20th February 2020
Back for a second year, from 2-8 March 2020, it’s your opportunity to feast for less at many of York’s finest food establishments.
Yours truly are one of the 60 eateries taking part, promising any two courses from a special set menu for only £10. It’s available available Monday-Friday and after 5pm on a Sunday. You’ll need to download a free voucher to take advantage of the offer first on the York Restaurant Week website and ring ahead to book a table.
Sumptuous starters include ham hock terrine, steak skewer with truffle hollandaise and pickled shallot, and homemade soup of the day. For mains there’s the uber-healthy power bowl or the super-indulgent Yorkshire beer batter fish and chips, or the very naughty buttermilk friend chicken.
York Restaurant week is a novel concept in the city, giving you a chance to dine out for a fixed price of either £5, £10, £15 or £20. It’s the eat-in version of the Food & Drink Festival, putting bums on seats in some of York’s most-loved restaurants and cafés.
Organised by the York BID (Business Improvement District), the event encourages residents and visitors to venture out and support local businesses during a quieter time of year.
We fully recommend that you eat out multiple times during York Restaurant Week. You can download as many vouchers from the website as you want and only one voucher is needed per table. Our neighbours taking part include Zaap Thai Street Food York, Mr P’S Curious Tavern, Fish and Forest and Los Moros.
The diverse menus cater for a variety of taste buds, from adventurous seafood and experimental Yorkshire tapas to Middle Eastern classics. Just don’t forget your voucher!.
